Thoughts for the Future

Mix up the prompts! See what worked well and what didn’t.

Add scaffolds like sentence frames that are tailored to specific prompts.

Does this activity support sense-making?

How is this helping to rehumanize math by giving students a private dialogue with the teacher.

How often should these prompts be used? Is it different depending on grade level?

How often should the prompt be a check in/personal writing prompt vs a content related prompt?

Reflection #1 ES

Today I had my students write a summary of the week. Some students needed to talk about it with an elbow partner before writing anything down and some flipped through their notes and wrote a sentence for each day. After reading some of their responses I know what I need to review on Monday. I’m thinking of doing a Dot Talk that involve multiplication. I’ll let you know how it goes.
